SUMMARY:MCM PAWA SOCIALS 24th September
DESCRIPTION:Our inaugural event provided a warm and relaxed setting for PAWA volunteers to connect\, network\, and support one another. We were delighted to gather at MCM’s London Boutique\, kindly hosted by PAWA Founder and MCM CEO\, Sungjoo Kim\, who generously opened her doors and extended such warm hospitality. \nThe evening was made extra special by our guest speaker\, Miss Mei Sim Lai\, OBE DL. She inspired us with her personal story of moving from Kuala Lumpur to London\, the challenges she faced along the way\, and her incredible journey to becoming a highly respected chartered accountant and international business leader. Her passion for diversity\, inclusion\, and women’s empowerment deeply resonated with our volunteers and set a wonderful energy and momentum for future PAWA gatherings. \n \n	\n\n MCM PAWA SOCIALS 24th September\n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Image 1 of 7

SUMMARY:PAWA Walk@15
DESCRIPTION:A huge thanks to everyone who took part and supported through donations to make the day an amazing success. It was a wonderful sight to see the wave of orange hats take on the 5k and 10k walk/run on a bright Sunday morning through Battersea Park.\n \nThe walk raised £15\,422 plus £2940 Gift Aid. \n \n5-year-old-twins\, Leo and Arthur\, were our youngest participants and fundraisers completing the 5k-route\, raising an amazing £285.69 and £58.92 Gift Aid. The top fundraiser was Marquis Wong who raised a whopping £2\,595.00 plus £60.00 Gift Aid\, which will help PAWA support 53 girls for a year. The Duggan family won the fastest prize; all four members of the family – including Ava who won the honour of the fastest single female runner on the day – ran in record time. Thank you all and everyone who participated for your support!\n \n	\n\n PAWA Walk@15\n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Image 1 of 5

SUMMARY:A PAWA Volunteers Social Event: Exhibition Gallery Talk & Tea at the Royal Thai Embassy (by Invitation Only)
DESCRIPTION:A couple of times a year\, PAWA organises a PAWA Social for volunteers to meet\, mix and get to know each other. \nThis May\, they were invited to a special afternoon in London: an exclusive exhibition tour\, followed by tea at the Thai Embassy. \nFirst\, volunteers arrived at the Royal Geographical Society to see Siam Through the Lens of John Thomson\, with a gallery talk by co-curators Betty Yao and Narisa Chakrabongse. \nThe exhibition\, which celebrates 170 years of Thailand-UK diplomatic relations\, tells the story of legendary Scottish photographer and travel writer John Thomson (1837-1921) who set off for Asia in 1862. \nAfter the exhibition talk\, volunteers were invited for tea\, nibbles and sweets at the Royal Thai Embassy\, hosted by Madame Priabthip Krishnamra. Ambassador H.E. Mr. Nadhavathna Krishnamra stopped by to congratulate PAWA and its volunteers on their ongoing efforts. \n“PAWA is honoured the Royal Thai Embassy hosted the tea\,” said Stewardship Trustee Betty Yao. “It’s an acknowledgement of PAWA’s work supporting teenage girls’ education\, not only in Thailand\, but across Asia.” \n\n\n\n	\n\n 8 May 2025 - A PAWA Volunteers Social Event: Exhibition Gallery Talk & Tea at the Royal Thai Embassy\n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Image 1 of 5

SUMMARY:PAWA Founder’s Dinner
DESCRIPTION:PAWA was thrilled to organise a special and exclusive event\, Founder’s Dinner\, the first of its kind marking the celebration of its 15th anniversary. \nSungjoo Kim OBE\, founder of PAWA generously invited patrons to a private dinner in London on 6th of February. It was a wonderful evening where patrons learned of Sungjoo Kim’s background and passion for creating support initiatives for women and girls in modern society and indeed her great sense of mission in life has ignited and the inception of PAWA. Her hard work ethic in both professional life and charity work is highly inspiring. Several of charter founder members of PAWA were invited to share their experiences in working and building the steady growth of PAWA over the last fifteen years as volunteers. \nIt was also a fantastic opportunity to express and exchange both present and new ideas on future directions for PAWA\, with a deep sense of collective commitment for all to continue making an impact. And we hope the new Patron (scheme/programme) will be a beginning of influential tradition and part of growth in future support. With a great sense of optimism we hope to make this special Founder’s Dinner as an annual event. We are grateful and honoured to have constant support and inspiration\, so enthusiastically given by our founder Sungjoo Kim. \n	\n\n Founder's Dinner 2025\n\n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n \n Image 1 of 4
