Home of Peace – MALAYSIA (12 Girls)
Home of Peace was founded in 1993 to help the education of children from squatter and deprived areas in and around Kuala Lumpur where girls are often required to stay at home and look after younger siblings. Many of the girls living at Home of Peace residential centre come from challenging and disadvantaged backgrounds, including children referred by the Ministry of Welfare who have been abandoned in hospitals. The girls receive home tuition at the centre until they go to College or University. PAWA has been supporting the educational programme at Home of Peace since 2019 through the funding of two teachers of Bahasa Malaysia to enable two groups of younger and older teenage girls to prepare for their IGCSE exams.
