LEAFF and PAWA

LEAFF have said some lovely things about our partnership with them:

London East Asia Film Festival could not think of a better charity to be in partnership with than PAWA, a UK registered charity whose single focus is to support the education of teenage girls in Asia.

Launched in 2009, PAWA is a professionally managed registered charity run by a dedicated group of unpaid volunteers. PAWA has to date raised funds to help 19 grassroot projects in 11 Asian countries and reached over 7,000 girls.

PAWA covers 32 Asian countries and regions that extend from Japan to Iran and Central Asia to Indonesia.

PAWA believes schooling is a precondition for girls and women to stand up against injustice and for women to be fully integrated into society and the economy.

The London East Asia Film Festival is proud to support PAWA in its efforts to further the education of teenage girls in Asia, especially in LEAFF’s “Stories of Women” section. We are excited to host a ‘PAWA Night’ after the screening of “The Table” at the Regent Street Cinema. Our esteemed guest list consists of Directors and Actors who are in full support of this remarkable charity.”
